Philip Selway on Composing for Film
On Monday 9th January, Film Makers at Soho Farmhouse were joined by Radiohead fans, Music Industry professionals and Let Me Go supporters to hear Philip Selway in discussion with one of Let Me Go’s Producers Lizzie Pickering.
With a mixture of film clips, sound bites, performance and talk, Philip illustrated how he had developed the score in close collaboration with the Let Me Go team and Director Polly Steele. Philip was one of the very first people on board when he read Polly’s script in the Autumn of 2015.
Some of the audience have been in touch since and we are thrilled with their response!
I think the whole thing looks and sounds amazing – can’t wait to see more!
Thanks so much for last night, great evening and very interesting. Can’t wait to see this film! Great to meet so many people too!
Brilliant evening – thanks so much to Lizzie and Philip (what a great bloke!). Really looking forward to seeing the full film in due course.
Loved that talk – I feel much more knowledgeable about how a musician approaches a film score. I will listen much more attentively to them now. I can’t WAIT to see Let Me Go!
It was so good last night! Your film looks brilliant. I simply can’t wait to watch it in its entirety! Lizzie and Philip were fabulous. It worked out perfectly as we really enjoyed hearing the complete song and then seeing the scene put it all into context, just wonderful!
The anecdotes about filming were brilliant especially the nightclub scene. It was a very professional, yet informal presentation. Philip is a good person, hugely talented, gracious and this type of event provides an excellent marketing tool for you and the film.
I came to Soho Farmhouse for your talk/showing last night. Absolutely loved what I saw of your film and how the collaboration with Philip worked.
